Amrita Bamrah is a seasoned nonprofit leader with over a decade of experience in community engagement, social impact, grassroots organizing, policy, and advocacy. Her professional journey reflects a dynamic blend of leadership across the technology and nonprofit sectors.

She currently serves as the Executive Director of Dasvandh Network (DVN), a national crowdfunding platform that uplifts Sikh communities through collective giving. DVN supports more than 90 Sikh-led nonprofits globally, helping them access vital funding to continue their work serving and strengthening our communities.

Before joining DVN, Amrita was the U.S. Public Policy Manager at Meta, where she led the company’s engagement with U.S. advocacy groups, civil rights organizations, and Sikh nonprofits. Her work centered on advancing equity and civil rights within the company and creating meaningful opportunities for communities to engage in policy conversations at the national level.

Amrita’s deep commitment to community is evident through her leadership at several prominent nonprofit organizations, including the Center for Policing Equity, Everytown for Gun Safety, and SALDEF. At the Center for Policing Equity, she led national community engagement strategies focused on racial equity and public safety. During her tenure at Everytown, she played a pivotal role in launching Students Demand Action and advancing key state-level gun safety legislation. Across each of these roles, Amrita has consistently focused on building partnerships and uplifting grassroots communities as drivers of lasting change.

Her academic foundation was built at the University of Chicago, where she earned a Master’s degree in Social Work, and at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, where she completed a dual degree in Economics and Global Studies—laying the groundwork for a career centered on equity, empowerment, and impact.
