Angad Singh is an independent documentary filmmaker and journalist from suburban Georgia, based in New York City. He began making documentaries about Sikh Americans at age 13 in response to discrimination he and others around the country were facing after 9/11.
After graduating with a political science degree from Columbia University, he worked with VICE News for more than seven years, where his reporting and short documentary work won an Emmy and other awards and nominations, but also resulted in his blacklisting and deportation from India.
Singh is now an independent journalist and video producer, and has offered opinion and analysis for outlets like the New York Times, Vox, and SCMP.
