Dr. Ammundeep Tagore is a board-certified physician in Emergency Medicine with a subspecialty in EMS & Disaster Medicine. 

After completing his fellowship, Dr Tagore served as Associate Program Director for the largest EMS & Disaster Medicine Fellowship in the nation at RWJBH Newark Beth Israel Rutgers Health for seven years. He found passion in training physicians as Core Teaching Faculty for the Emergency Medicine Residency at Newark Beth Israel Rutgers Health. He previously served as Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Emergency Medicine at Rutgers NJ Medical School. 

Dr. Tagore actively serves as a Clinical Advisor for the New Jersey Hospital Association Healthcare Coalition. He covers the North and Central region of New Jersey working closely with state agencies, acute care hospitals, public health agencies, emergency medical services (EMS), and emergency management agencies during mass casualty incidences, emergencies, and disasters.

In New Jersey, Dr Tagore has also served as an Associate Medical Director for RWJBH Mobile Health EMS. He currently serves as Associate Medical Director for Hunterdon Health MICU.  Other affiliations include his role as a Flight Physician for MedWay Air Ambulance. Dr.Tagore is also active in event medicine, working concerts, marathons, and other special events.  One of Dr.Tagore’s professional interests includes Tactical Medicine.  He has served as a Tactical Physician for the NJ State Police TEAMS Unit and several other Federal and local SWAT/SRT Units.  He has specialized tactical training in K-9 Casualty Care for working service dogs in the SWAT Team as well.  

Dr. Tagore has presented at several conferences at the state and national level, including bi-monthly presentations at the NJ Healthcare Coalition’s meetings. Dr. Tagore has several publications in emergency medicine with a specific focus in prehospital medicine regarding cardiac arrest, emergent airway management and flight medicine.

Dr.Tagore’s passion and long-term goals are centered in mission work. He has been involved in medical mission work since the early 2000s and more recently has spent time abroad focusing on establishing EMS Systems in developing and third world countries. He also is heavily involved in teaching physicians in developing and third world countries point of care ultrasound (POCUS) to diagnose and treat patients who may not have the latest imaging technology readily available to them. Across the country, Dr. Tagore has also spent a lot of time creating medical preparedness kits for gurudware (Sikh Houses of Worship), and has presented on how to prepare for medical emergencies. 

Dr.Tagore is currently actively practicing emergency medicine within the Cooper University, RWJ Barnabas Health, and Hunterdon Healthcare systems.
