Hamdeep Singh has been part of the Education Advisory Committee of Sikh Coalition, a national Sikh civil rights organization, since September 2023.
As part of the EAC, Hamdeep has had the privilege to draft a K-6 school curriculum which includes California Sikh History shared with Los Angeles Independent Schools, speak about Sikh identity and culture at churches, and bring Sikh awareness to her children’s schools.
She is CoChair of DEI Expanded Board of Parent Association at Harvard Westlake School and CoChair of Brentwood School South Asian Family Association. She has completed certification on Racial Equity & Inclusion Phase One through the Racial Equity Institute & Third Space Lab. Previously, she was the CoChair of the Parent Education Committee at John T Dye School and Founding Board Member of TeachAAPI. Her experience with these independent schools has allowed her to share Sikh culture with students and faculty.
Previously, for six years, she served as Executive Secretary Board of Trustees and Vice President of Parent Teacher Association for two years at Forest Ridge Academy, an independent school in Indiana. This school has the highest racial diversity in the district. She founded International Peace Day which the school continues to celebrate.
She continues to volunteer at UCLA as an Alumni Scholarship Reviewer for the past five years, and at the FEMA Disaster UCLA Relief Center.
As a medical doctor, Hamdeep has publications on how to reduce high risk medication in geriatric population and a reality vs. perception of patient and workflow in a primary care setting.
