Navneet Kaur is an educator, human rights advocate, and board member of both the Sikh Seva Foundation and Innovation Law Lab. With over two decades of experience teaching English and language arts at the high school and college levels, she combines a deep commitment to educational equity with a broader dedication to justice, inclusion, and cultural preservation. Her work reflects a sustained effort to empower marginalized communities through both advocacy and education.

Kaur served on the Salem Human Rights Commission from 2006 to 2018 and was a member of the Oregon Attorney General’s Hate Crimes Task Force from 2018 to 2019. Since 2018, she has served on the board of Innovation Law Lab, a national leader in advancing immigrant justice. Through the Sheridan Project, she played a key role in coordinating legal orientation sessions, connecting pro bono attorneys with detained asylum seekers, and facilitating culturally responsive support for over 100 asylum seekers held at a federal prison in Sheridan, Oregon.

As a cultural advocate, Kaur has partnered with historian Johanna Ogden and the Oregon Historical Society to co-develop educational resources on the history of East Indians in Oregon and has helped organize public commemorations of the Ghadar movement. Her work bridges the realms of education, legal advocacy, and cultural preservation, advancing equity and amplifying the voices of underrepresented communities.
